Salt of the Earth Trio

Mar 13, 2025

Humans have been harvesting Sea Salt from the ocean for centuries for its minerals, flavor profile and health benefits.

There are many different uses for salt: eating, hydration, skin care, hair care, aromatics, preservation, cleaning and more.

Though, all salt is not created equally. At Saltery we are obsessed with salt and enthusiastic about discovering and creating all natural salt. The location harvested determines the quality — and we only share with you the best. Our three unique offerings of unrefined salt include Duxbury Salt, Sel Gris and Celtic Salt. Unrefined sea salt maintains its natural mineral content whereas table salt does not.

Get to know why we chose them:

Duxbury Salt

Harvested in small batches from the waters of Duxbury Bay using a technique that takes over 24 hours to slowly extract the sea salt.

The waters are filtered every 7 days from the robust aquaculture industry making the small flakes of Duxbury Salt clean and mineral rich.

Sel Gris

Harvested from the ocean in France using solar evaporation, the longer drying time creates a small coarse grain that retains quite a bit of moisture.

With a briny, intense crunch, Sel Gris contains a high mineral count and high flavor profile. Its gray coloring is thanks to the mineral content.

Celtic Salt

Harvested from the mineral rich Celtic Sea off the coast of France, the water is channeled into shallow clay lined salt marshes called oeillets to be evaporated by the sun.

This process naturally results in a large grain size that retains a bit of its natural moisture. It gets its color from the clay and algae in the salt marshes.

Fun fact: the name denotes Ireland and Scotland origin, but by modern day geography it is a product of France!
